Our Mission and Vision Statements
Our Mission
The mission of Covenant Presbyterian Church is to give glory to God by worshiping Him, sharing the life and message of Jesus Christ, and equipping believers to follow and serve Him in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Our Vision
“Helping You Home to Christ” is a simple way of expressing
the vision of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Home is where we belong. It is
where we discover who we are, and whose we are; and it is the place where we
grow up, learn, love, and rest. Ultimately, we are homeless until we find
our home in Christ. That is why we want to be a life-changing,
biblically-functioning community of faith, helping you home to Christ!
The gospel of Jesus Christ is the gospel of grace. Therefore, we want to be
a church where every member is growing in grace. We want to be conformed to
Christ’s likeness through genuine repentance, faith, and rest in the gospel,
fruitful knowledge of God’s Word, and spiritually-gifted service.
2 Peter 3:18, Ephesians 4:13, Matthew 11:28-30, Colossians 1:10,
1 Corinthians 12:7
God first blessed and called His people through families. The family is
still His primary building block for society. So, we want to be a church
that honors, preserves, heals, and strengthens every marriage and every
family. We want each generation to pass on the blessing of faith, hope,
love, truth, and purpose.

The heavenly Father seeks us out to be His worshipers. He calls us to
worship Him alone in Spirit and truth. So we, as individuals, families, and
a congregation want to be a church that continually enjoys Spirit-led
worship and instruction, deeply rooted in the truth of God’s Word.
John 4:23,24, Hebrews 10:23-25, 1 Thessalonians 4:1, Colossians
2:6,7, Colossians 3:16
Jesus Christ commissioned His disciples (and the church), to first take the
gospel into our own community and spheres of influence. So, we want to be a
church that faithfully offers a prophetic voice and gospel mercy to the East
Alabama community. We want to create opportunities for every member, then
empower and support them to welcome and serve others, freely giving through
their time, talent, and treasure in the name of Christ.

Students and faculty come to Auburn University from all over the world. God
has positioned us to influence communities and nations with the gospel of
Jesus Christ. So, we want to be a church that welcomes college students and
faculty, and equips them to think biblically about their fields and the
world, and trains them in ministry skills to serve in the unique culture of
the university campus.

From Genesis to Revelation, the scriptures reveal to us God’s glorious
redemptive plan, and He has called us to be a part of it! So, we want to be
a church that embraces and promotes God’s heart for the world. We want to
obey His command to make disciples of all the nations, and eagerly
participate in sending and taking the powerful gospel of Jesus Christ to
every tribe, tongue, people and nation in our generation.
