On the Fringe
It's that time again in Winnipeg. Why not spend today checking out some of the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival performances at venues around the downtown area. Visit winnipegfringe.com for a schedule of today's shows, or pick up a program for $5 at Liquor Marts, Safeway stores, McNally Robinson or the MTC Box Office.
Carriages compete
Visit Birds Hill Park today as horses come from all over North America to compete in a carriage driving competition. If you're entertained by horse racing, you won't want to miss this event, complete with obstacles and tight turns that test each horse's abilities. This event runs from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Get Blue
Blue Man Group will put on some colourful performances at the Centennial Concert Hall today, and tickets are still available for both the 1 p.m. show and the 6 p.m. show. You don't want to miss this group's act, which combines comedy, music and technology. Tickets range from $45 to $75 and can be purchased by visiting ticketmaster.ca.
Herbs, anyone?
Visit the Assiniboine Park Conservatory today between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. for the Manitoba Herb Society of Manitoba's HerbFest. The event features speakers, entertainers and a herbal marketplace. Some of the entertainers include The Village Green Dancers, Linda Kane and Matt Ward. This is a free event.
Harry's Back
The final film in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, has finally hit the theatres. Head to a movie theatre near you today to check out this long awaited movie. Order your tickets in advance online to avoid line-ups. Visit cineplex.com to pre-purchase tickets.

It takes time to report a near miss and there are several reasons people don't do it. However, it is truly important you report them. If not, what is lost is a free lesson in injury prevention. The few minutes spent reporting and investigating near-miss incidents can help prevent similar incidents, and even severe injuries. Remember, near misses are warnings.
