ENIGMATIC LIVE OAK COMES ALIVE
It’s called the “Live Oak Way” and it seems to permeate everything at the event, from the shows on stage to the vendors outside. Yet finding out what exactly the Live Oak Way is and why hundreds of people embrace it can be a challenge.

Nestled on a bluff above the Santa Ynez River sits the Live Oak Camp and during this year’s festivities, it was filled to the brim with music lovers. The camp sites themselves are eclectic, with temporary abodes based out of anything from compact cars to RVs.
Everywhere in the large camping area is the smell of food and the plinking sounds of string instruments. Children run between camper-vans and under clotheslines in a water-gun battle of epic proportions. This is not the kind of camping most would associate with America’s great national parks system, and the Live Oak campers will be the first to admit that.
While the festival’s tri-part mantra may be “Peace, Love, Dirt,” this is something quite different from huddling around a far-too-small fire in a merciless wind with chapping lips. Here, the campers have adorned their shared space with spacious tents and flags. Some string rope covered in colorful sheets between neighboring vehicles, to build a wagon circle of sorts in which to fellowship. There are big barbeques and beer-filled coolers aplenty. Even if a forgetful music-lover forgot to stock up on victuals for the weekend, there is a row of food stalls not five minutes from the furthest edge of camp.
Briana Shean, a hoop-dance instructor, host a booth filled with her artisan hoops (don’t call them Hula Hoops) and shows off a picture of her “campsite.” She points to her PT Cruiser; the interior is draped in cloth and the floor has been transformed into a bed. Among the stack of plump pillows, it looks less the survival shelter and more the funky hotel room. Of course, a colorful and loose interpretation of camping doesn’t even come close to describing the Live Oak Way.
Shean said to discover the heart behind the Live Oak Way, the focus needs to be turned on the people who come year after year. A unscientific poll of passersby the food stalls reveals many different thoughts on what the oft-referenced way is, but there are threads that run through everyone’s answers. Respect, friendship and mutual sharing top that list.
Vegan Dance Shoes - News
It could be attributed to the nearby beer and wine garden or could be the fresh air, but something about this festival lets people quite literally kick off their shoes and dance. Perhaps that, too, is part of the elusive Live Oak Way.

Vegan Irish Dance Shoes - Diddlyi Irish Dance and Music
Hi there,
Â
I'm new to the Diddlyi, so 'hello' to all of you!
Â
Though I started Irish Dancing just some months ago, I've been looking for vegan hard and soft shoes for years now and unfortunately haven't been able to find any or even to find any manufacturer who would try out any of the fine vegan fake leather varieties available.
Â
Did anyone here ever hear of soft and/or hard shoes made without leather?
