Cuba bloquea revalidación de títulos de odontólogos
Julio Alfonso, presidente ejecutivo de Solidaridad sin Fronteras (SSF), comentó al diario El Nuevo Herald que a pesar del esfuerzo de SSF de otorgar becas de preparación para obtener licencias en el campo odontológico, el Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE), una organización de Wisconsin que otorga la certificación profesional, sólo acepta los registros académicos remitidos por Cuba. En los últimos cinco años, al menos 3,000 profesionales de la salud se han fugado por diversas vías a Estados Unidos alentados por el programa del Departamento de Seguridad Interna que fue implementado en el 2006 y que otorga visas a médicos cubanos en terceros países. Pero en el 2010, el Ministerio de Salud Pública de Cuba aprobó una resolución para otorgar los documentos de verificación de estudios sólo a los profesionales y técnicos de la salud que hayan emigrado luego de obtener la liberación laboral.Educational Credential Evaluators - News
