Took my 2002 Wide Glide in to the local HD Dealership to perform $2600.00 worth of work installing the cam adjuster update & a Hyd primary auto adjuster ,complete fluid change tires- brakes & a $200.00 K&N complete air cleaner kit & carb. rejet kit & drag pipes . To make a long story short the bike ran great & pulled hard for 35 miles then bad rattle from engine . They said that a bolt had come loose from the "JUNKY" K&N unit and was sucked up through the carb. & was beating the hell out of the head & piston . They said they had this problem before with the K&N set up & should have warned me about it . So they said they replaced the rear piston along with two new loaded heads at no charge & installed a SE air cleaner . I asked for the old parts and they did save them but I trusted them after looking closely at the new heads & didn't ask to view them . They did give me back the K&N assy . Everythings seems to check out ok so far ( 55 miles ) except for the fact that I've lost enough HP that I can feel it in the seat of my pants , that and the exhaust ping when you throttle the engine & let off the throttle it makes a loud pinging sound . Weird ain't it ? I think the HP loss is due to the rinky-dink SE air cleaner kit which I can resolve later . Its just that loud ping sound when you let off the gas thats got me .
